1. #JEDchat kicks off tonight

I’ve been talking a lot lately about how educators can use Twitter as a learning tool, to grow their Personal Learning Network, discover new trends and techniques and connect with like-minded teachers all over the world. One of the main ways to dive in quickly is #EDchat, a twice-weekly, hour-long, online, live twitter-chat which brings together teachers from all over to discuss issues of the day.

A couple of friends of mine (some of whom I know only online) are attempting to create a Jewish Education Chat, or #JEDchat, to accomplish the same thing for teachers in Jewish schools. The fun kicks off with the inaugural chat tonight at 9 pm and you’re invited!

If you would like to attend, there’s a great how-to article here which explains what JEDchat is, where it came from, who put it together and how anyone can join in, even if you’ve never used Twitter before.

I want to point out that you don’t even need a Twitter account to benefit from the chat. You need one to participate but, if you just want to lurk and watch the fun, just head to the Twitter search page at 9 tonight and search for #JEDchat.

I even bookmarked the search for you so, for the total-Twtter-novices, just CLICK HERE TO WATCH. I promise you’ll learn something… see you online!
