1. #1Password is even more awesome than I thought!

    I love 1Password.

There are other apps that do similar things but, to me at least, 1Password was the first and, as far as I can tell, it’s still the best. It’s a simple app that remembers all of your login names and passwords for you so that all you have to keep in your brain is… just 1 password. Once you purchase and install the app, you can put plug-ins into your browsers (yes, all of them) on all your machines (yes, Windows and Mac and iOS and Android and whatever) and then you’re done trying to remember passwords.

It does lots more, but I’ll let you check it out on your own. For now, I have to tell you a cool story. We moved into a new house and, to celebrate, we finally bought an HDTV. We are still unpacking and there isn’t enough room on the office desk to unpack the second computer, so, in a flash of brillaince, I decided to connect it to the TV. (Here I am, right now, sitting on the couch with a bluetooth keyboard on my lap, composing this post.)

Anyway, since this is the kids’ computer, I never installed the 1Password plugins on it and, just now, I couldn’t get into one of my email accounts because, thanks to 1P, the password is a crazy gobble-degook of letters, numbers and characters that I can’t (but don’t have to) remember,

“Hmm,” I thought. “I won’t be able to check my email on this machine.” I was about to fire up the 1P app on my iPhone to look up the password when I found myself wondering if there was any sort of use-anywhere web interface to my 1Password database since I store it in Dropbox.

    Of course there is!

So, dear 1Password developers, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! :)

You’re even more awesomer than I thought.
