Why I love my new #HobanPress business cards

I ordered myself a set of cards from Hoban Press about two weeks ago and they finally arrived a couple of days back. I am traveling to speak at a conference on Thursday and I’m going to be using these new cards for the first time… and I’m so excited about it that it’s silly. I mean, they’re just business cards, right?

Let me try to explain precisely why they are unique:

• No phone number: my new cards display my name, my Twitter name and my email address. That’s it. No telephone number, which I think is awesome. I work in Educational Technology and, if you want to reach me to discuss that, you should use Twitter or email.
• The paper: I don’t know enough about paper to explain this correctly, but the 110 lb cotton paper that Evan uses for these cards feels… well, it feels substantial. And professional. And sexy. I just know that, when I give these cards out after I present and people feel them, they are going to stop talking and ask me where I got them.

I can’t wait to tell them.
